The White Islands

An ongoing body of work consisting of auto-constructed sculptures made of scrap lumber and abandoned projects, The White Islands are intended to migrate between gallery and nature in a fluid and undetermined way throughout an ambiguous lifespan defined by shifting and migrating way points. Starting in pristine, flawless white condition, these objects are meant to expand, contract, absorb and otherwise respond to and interact with their current environments. Natural processes are encouraged but not coerced, while typical methods of storage, transport and mounting of art sculptures is mostly ignored.
