An exhibition mounted at Laplace Gallery in Barcelona, Spain as part of an art residency that took place in July, 2023. These work are made from materials sourced, found and scavenged in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona during the residency period. Due to the nature of the residency and the facilities available as part of it, there was a need to adapt my practice to the situation. Cardboard replaced wood, tape replaced nails and markers, small blades and small brushes were the only tools used. The work here represents and effort to fully embrace the constraints of the situation and create in an intuitive and automatic way, responding to the location and experimenting with materials I often do not use in my usual practice.
